nyc recomendations 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
dear beer lovers;
my wife and i will be in nyc may 13-18 for our daughter's graduation from nyu. while we will be spending most of our time at formal events, we would like to enjoy informal time at good local bars (i.e. belgian, strong ales, double ipa's, cask conditioned).and if such bars exist in the greenwich area where we're staying, well, that would be a "double".
thanks.

You'll definitely want to check out the Blind Tiger. One of the best beer bars in the city. (And it's so close to NYU that you could duck out of the ceremony for a quick one...) http://blindtigeralehouse.com/

A few quick suggestions: Waterfront Ale House; Burp Castle; Cafe de Bruxelles, d.b.a; Ginger Man ... all very good. The first and third also have excellent food. Congratulations on your daughter's graduation!

you definetely should check out the gingerman. It's on east 36th street. they have 66 drafts to choose from. http://www.gingerman-ny.com/

Also highly recommend the blind tiger. Although it gets overcrowded after work. I usually hit this place early to mid afternoon to get a nice comfy bar stool.

Enjoy your trip.
