Any homebrewers out there have a good recipe for a heather ale using the plant's delicate flowers? I have two large heathers in full bloom right now.

Have you tried beerrecipes.org ?

They have a heap of recipes there. I just came across it yesterday and they have a great cream ale one I'm gonna try.

I hesitate to reply, as the attempt I made using heather tips was in my opinion a failure. Despite using quite a bit of heather tips, I could not appreciate them in either the flavor or the aroma. The brew also gave me a heck of a headache.
I have had some wonderful cask ales in Scotland from the the folks who make Fraoch Heather Ale- served in large bowl wineglasses and definitely having great aroma and flavor. My suggestion would be to google a Fraoch Heather Ale clone recipe and go from there. You are fortunate to have a supply of tips at your disposal. As I recall the tips were quite expensive and a major part of the recipe which I have since pitched.
