I agree with you that this is tough. I have so many "favorites" that picking one is like picking a favorite child.

Since discovering "real" beer a few years ago, I have sampled many, and found that there is nothing better than a fresh beer from a local brewpub.

I have been to many of them all over the Northeast, and there is none better than the Brown Ale at Davidson Brothers Restaurant and Brewery in my own hometown of GLens Falls, NY.

So many beers, hard to come up with a favorite. I would have to start with Ubu Ale from Lake Placid Brewing Co. This has to be one of the best dark ales and in a very limited market. On the lighter side, Otter Creek Copper Ale is fantastic. Damn too hard to pick just one.

As a traveling beer scribe, I am asked this Q all the time. For me the answer is simple: Victory Hop Devil on Cask. Heck, I even wrote an Ode to Hop Devil poem on the topic.

I'd have to go with Yards IPA as my number 1. Massive hop kick with a nice body, very tasty.

But it would be tough to call the next 9, if that were asked of me...

Depending on the weather,
Bells Oberon, Bells Lager, Delirium Tremens, Lakefront Fuel Cafe stout, Eggenberg Samichlaus Helles, Smuttynose Really Old Brown Dog(big bottle series), Stone Smoked Porter, Anderson Valley summer solstice cerveza Crema,<---Solar powered brewery!, Kasteel Triple, or Eggenberg Nelly's Red Ale will work just fine for me... These are all truly exceptional beverages. Happy to make more reccomendations.
