Check out Midwest Supply www.midwestsupplies.com. They are an excellent supplier of equipment and ingredients for brewing and wine making. They have several homebrew start up equipment kits all well under $300.

I recently started up homebrewing as a hobby and got my supplies from midwest online. FOr under $200, you can get an "everything you need" kit and even get some good recipe kits from them for starters.

Tons of fun!
