I have many, but you can never go wrong with a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot barleywine. Exquisite.

Westvleteren 12. Those Trappist Monks must pray for divine intervention for all their beers that never disappoints when they brew at the Abbey of Saint Sixtus. The monks try to live a quiet & modest life, searching for God. This beer definitely helps you appreciate God's fine gifts to us, including their beer.

We've had to honor of riding bicycles from Poperinge to the abbey. It was an amazing experience; once we arrived an enjoyed a nice sandwich and beer at In De Vrede. We were thankful that a beer that costs us 15 USD cost us less than 5 EURO in the cafe.

It was amazing to see all the cars lined up on the road to the abbey just to buy 2 cases of this heavenly beer. Just a note, the monks will not allow you to buy a case of beer if you go up on a bicycle.

God bless the Trappist Monks and their beer!

Dieu du Ciel's Peche Mortel (translates to Mortal Sin) an imperial stout from Montreal.
Too bad we can't even get it in the province next door.

I have always thought this question was a tough one. My standing answer has always been I think about beer like a parents thinks about their children, you love them all for different reasons.

However, I have been enjoying some of the great brew Sixpoint has been gracing the NYC beer market with, if you are ever in the area check them out. So to give an answer Sixpoint's Sweet Action has come as close to a favorite as I have ever had.

Cheers,

Rich
